Deborah Smith

Dr. Smith is the Assistant Department Chair, Leadership Studies Director and an Associate Professor in the Department of University Studies at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA.  Besides a variety of leadership courses, she also teaches Honors Research Methods.  In the past she has taught Freshman and Senior Seminar, and held positions in the areas of Student Life and Wellness at other universities. Her current research areas of interest include women and leadership, leadership pedagogy, and leadership as service. Deborah holds a B.A. in Psychology from Furman University, a M.Ed. in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Georgia State University.

She resides in Marietta, GA with her husband, two sons and dog.  In her spare time she enjoys being involved in her community, reading, exercising and enjoying the great outdoors.
