Jackie Bruce

Dr. Jackie Bruce was born and raised in Colorado. She attended Colorado State University where she received degrees in Political Science and Extension Education. While completing her Masters Degree, she took a position with the Colorado State Cooperative Extension Service as a 4-H Youth Development agent on the Western Slope of Colorado, before she met and married her husband and returned with him to Texas.
Dr. Bruce attended Texas A&M University, where she completed a PhD in Agricultural Education with emphases in Leadership Development and Extension Education. Upon graduating from TAMU in May 2003, Dr. Bruce took a position with The Pennsylvania State University in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education as an Assistant Professor of Youth and Adult Leadership Development. In this position, Dr. Bruce provided leadership for a variety of state level leadership development programming for the Pennsylvania 4-H program. In July 2009, Dr. Bruce took a position with North Carolina State University's Department of Agricultural and Extension Education as an Assistant Professor. In this role, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership development and extension education and maintains a rigorous research program in the area of transfer of leadership training and skill acquisition while serving as a trainer and mentor in leadership development through her outreach programs.
