Jonathan Velez

ALE Director of Marketing & Public Relations

Dr. Jonathan Velez is currently an Assistant Professor in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Sciences and holds the Bradshaw Leadership Academy Professorship in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University.  He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Oregon State University and taught high school agricultural science and technology for four years before earning a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Extension  Education from The Ohio State University.  Dr. Velez is passionate about leadership development and, since arriving at Oregon State, has developed leadership coursework, a new leadership minor, and a college-wide Leadership Academy.

Dr. Velez's research interests include student motivation, leadership evaluation and assessment, leadership development and teaching methods.
