What to do in Albuquerque

The 2019 ALE Excursions Conference Sub-Committee has been hard at working finding interesting things to do while you are in Albuquerque! We have created the list below that you can peruse at your leisure. It includes great restaurants, things to do around the hotel, and things to do throughout Albuquerque. We hope you get some great ideas and are able to explore this amazing city! 

Conference Excursion

On the evening of Tuesday, July 9th, ALE Conference participants are invited to join in a conference excursion to the Indian Cultural Pueblo Center. Participants will be allowed to view the center with a docent or on a self-guided tour. There will also be dinner served at the center followed by a presentation from a native dance group. Sandia Peak Tramway
2.7-mi. aerial tram ride, with Albuquerque & mountain views, to a peak with trails, skiing & dining.

ABQ BioPark - Zoo

Old Town Albuquerque

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science

 Expansive museum featuring stones & gems, dinosaur skeletons & a time travel simulation ride.

Petroglyph National Monument 
Archaeological site showcasing thousands of prehistoric Native American drawings on stone walls.

Cibola National Forest
1.6 million acres of trees, meadows & mountains, with campgrounds, climbing areas & scenic trails.

Sprawling collection of gardens with walking paths also features seasonal classes, tours & events.

ABQ BioPark - Aquarium
Spacious aquarium featuring tanks with hundreds of fish plus a theater showing educational films.

Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum

Open & airy tri-level museum explores the history of ballooning & features a flight simulator.

La Luz Trail
This 9-mile ascent in the Sandia Mountains leads to a summit cable car station for the ride down.

All-ages science, tech & art museum with over 250 exploratory exhibits & separate toddler area.

Turquoise Museum

In-depth guided tours of a natural turquoise collection, with hands-on exhibits & a gift shop.
