The Staley School of Leadership (SSL), an interdisciplinary School focused on leadership learning, development, and practice at Kansas State University (KSU), invites applications for a full-time 9-month tenure-track faculty position (open-rank, assistant/associate/full professor; tenured or tenure-track) of Leadership & Community-Engaged Learning and to direct community-engaged learning at Kansas State University, beginning fall semester 2024.

Successful applicants will be prepared to work in a team-based, collaborative environment focused on leadership learning, development, and practice through their service learning and the scholarship of teaching, research/creative activity/inquiry, and service efforts. We seek to recruit candidates that have a primary focus in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and service-learning and can translate or situate their scholarly efforts within civic and organizational leadership learning and development contexts.

This position is a faculty appointment with administrative responsibilities. This faculty member will teach across SSL’s undergraduate and graduate academic programs. They will advance service-learning and community-engagement in the curriculum, directing related pedagogical and administrative processes for the school and campus. Administrative responsibilities in this position are to build and advance a university-wide service-learning initiative for campus fulfilling plans outlined in the university strategic plan. As the campus contact responsible for advancing reciprocal community partnerships in curricular work, administrative duties include the coordination and advancement of faculty, students, and community, in best practices of community-engaged learning. Additionally, administrative oversight includes research, monitoring, assessment, and evaluation of student learning outcomes and the state of community-engaged learning, specifically service-learning, at the university.
